Rockafeller’s is Going Green
All the Way Around!

Rockafeller’s understands that restaurants are an integral part of Virginia’s tourism industry – they are the most numerous sector of Virginia tourism as well as one of the tourism industry’s most valued resources. As such, Rockafeller’s is doing their part to protect all of Virginia’s resources – especially their natural resources – by participating in the Virginia Green Restaurants program. By their participation, Rockafeller’s offers people the choice of eating at an establishment that is minimizing its environmental impacts as well as leading the way for other establishments to follow suit. Rockafeller’s jumped on board in the hopes of showing other area restaurateurs that no matter what the size of the restaurant – from a small operation to a high volume restaurant such as Rockafeller’s, going green is not only the right thing to do, but easier to execute than you might think!

When visiting Rockafeller’s, customers can not only expect a menu with healthy options, but they can also feel good knowing that by supporting Rockafeller’s they are also supporting recycling, elimination of Styrofoam and reduction of disposables, grease recycling, water efficiency and energy conservation.

From purchasing Energy Star equipment and appliances to screen based ordering systems that reduce paper waste, Rockafeller’s is on the forefront of the restaurant community – joining with Virginia’s Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) to do what they can to reduce their impact on the environment. It is the hope of the DEQ, Virginia Green and Rockafeller’s to use this pilot program to turn at least 20 restaurants in Virginia Beach over to “Virginia Green” restaurants by the end of this year!
