The founding owner of Rockafeller’s, Frank Baumann, loved the restaurant business. It was his life, and also his drive to ignite the same passion in others that he felt for his beloved industry. A year after Frank died, the Virginia Beach Restaurant Association, in which Rockafeller’s is very active, named its Annual Golf Tournament after Frank - a tradition that continues to this day. Every year, a scholarship is given out to subsidize a local student entering into a culinary arts program at Tidewater Community College.
